I have lived my entire life on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (and continue to until I can be on campus at College Park). While applying for college back in late 2019, the only requirement I had was that I go to a college that was seemingly it's own city. I didn't want to stay in the same place because I knew the world was so much bigger. I ended up applying to University of Maryland College Park and was accepted. In that acceptance letter, there was a little surprise: an invitation to College Park Scholars. After doing some research on the different Scholars programs, I picked Media, Self, and Society.

Media, Self, and Society stuck out to me originally because of the field trips (obviously those can't be a factor now with COVID). But, I also chose Media, Self, and Society because it was something new to me. Back when I was a freshman in high school, I used to look forward to watching the news every night. My parents thought I was crazy. As life went on and high school go busier, I slowly let go of the habit. As in incoming college freshman, I thought it would be interesting to learn the behind the scenes process of the news. I'm excited for everyone to see my journey throughout the next two years in Media, Self and Society! Follow along and see what I learn and accomplish!
